New in 2022!
Doesn’t that have a nice ring to it? And isn’t it a relief to have 2021 behind us?
Several months ago as I started asking the Lord what His word might be for our ministry this year, He began revealing and then continued confirming, NEW.
Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! - Isaiah 43:18-19a
My prayer has become, “God, what are the former things that you don’t want us dwelling on anymore? And what are the new things you are desiring for us to step into?
That gets me excited! Some people might like things the way they are and are hesitant to step into something new. Personally, I like the fresh and new possibilities of change.
I am the LORD; that is My name! I will not give My glory to another or My praise to idols. See, the former things have taken place, and new things I declare; before they spring into being I announce them to you. - Isaiah 42:8-9
I love that MORE Mentoring has been in existence for 8 years. The number 8 represents “new.” I have a keen awareness that God is up to something big in this new year. Do you feel it like I do? I want to be alert. I want to hold loosely. I want to have open hands to receive. He is on the move and we need to be ready to move with Him wherever He might take us.
No one sews a patch of unshrunk cloth on an old garment, for the patch will pull away from the garment, making the tear worse. Neither do men pour new wine into old wineskins. If they do, the skins will burst, the wine will run out and the wineskins will be ruined. No, they pour new wine into new wineskins, and both are preserved.
- Matthew 9:16-17
We are praying that God would reveal what these new wineskins could be. A new perspective? A new message? A new product? A new plan? A new spirit?
Rejoice, you people of Jerusalem!
Rejoice in the Lord your God!
For the rain he sends demonstrates his faithfulness.
Once more the autumn rains will come, as well as the rains of spring.
The threshing floors will again be piled high with grain,
and the presses will overflow with new wine and olive oil. - Joel 2:23-24
