Replace the “De” Words with “Re” Words

As a dear friend and I were praying together this past week, the words that came out of her mouth were, “God, replace the 'de' words with 're' words." Let me explain.
Satan is the king of the “de” words: words that bring death to someone’s spirit. He loves to take away. Steal. Tear down. These are his kind of words . . .

- Deflate
- Deceive
- Defeat
- Degrade
- Deplete
- Depression
- Despair
- Desperate
- Decline
- Defiance
- Delay
- Deprive
- Destitute
- Devalue
- Devastate
Jesus is the King of the “re” words: words that breathe life into someone’s spirit. He loves to pour into. Build up. Give back. These are his kind of words . . .
- Renew
- Refresh
- Redeem
- Restore
- Rebuild
- Revive
- Reclaim
- Reconcile
- Refuel
- Reignite
- Refine
- Repair
- Repossess
- Reestablish
- Retrieve
- Reward
As we just celebrated Easter yesterday, Jesus’ life was a perfect example of this. He came to replace the “de” words with the “re” words. His very life, death and resurrection conquered Satan and his “de” words. What hope we have in Him!
My prayer for you today is that Jesus will replace the “de” words that have been spoken over your life and where you feel you may be stuck or dwelling today. There is great hope that those words can be replaced with the “re” words of God’s truth and your very life would be a great display of His power and glory. He is a breakthrough God, a transforming God, and a miracle-working God. There is not one “de” word in your life that is too impossible for Him to change into a “re” word.
